  • Will's Story

If you've never had the privilege of knowing William Buechner. We want to introduce you to our brother.

William Buechner was a dedicated Police Officer for 13 years with the Auburn Police Department in Auburn, Alabama. During his time on the force, he responded to over 34,000 calls and the impact he had on the Auburn community can't be measured. He was fatally wounded during a domestic disturbance call on May 19, 2019.

He was a Patched member of the Gunners Law Enforcement Motor Cycle Club (GLEMC). He was driving force behind many fund raisers for charities the Gunners facilitated in the community. There were countless Club events which helped build the Brotherhood that exist today within the Gunners. To the Club he is known as “ATF” (Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms) his three favorite things. He was known for walking to his own beat and never following the crowd.Club members have countless stories of “ATF” doing things just a little different. And most importantly, he was a dedicated and proud father to Henry and Mckenna, and a wonderful husband to his wife Sara. He is missed beyond words and will never be forgotten by any that knew him and the community he protected.

100% of ALL purchases in this category go to Henry, & Mckenna's trust fund.

  • This Year's Inspiration

On December 15, 2020 Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones went to the Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. The wall is made of marble with each name being etched into the marble wall. When he saw the wall, he knew everyone must see this, but may not be able to travel. He placed a scrap of paper over the name on the wall and used the edge of a pencil to make several rubbings of the name on the wall so that he would have something to bring back home. The “rub” on this shirt is one that he made while there and gave to Sara Buechner, William Buechner’s wife. Then in October 2021, Sara, son Henry, and daughter Mckenna, escorted by Auburn Police Officer Josh Gooden visited the Memorial Wall in person and participated in several ceremonies during Police Week 2021. One event included a ceremony on October 14, 2021, where 701 names were read aloud to honor the sacrifice of their familie ceremony included officers killed in the line of duty from 2019 and 2020 due to the original ceremonies being cancelled due to Covid-19. Sara and the kids also laid a wreath at the spot on the wall where her husband’s name, Officer William Buechner, appears. His name is located on panel 49-E, row 31. There was also a candlelight vigil that night on the grounds of the Washington Monument to honor the 701 fallen officers. They were able to attend another ceremony on October 16, 2021, where 491 officers were honored on the front lawn of the US Capitol for their ultimate sacrifice. One officer honored was our very own Officer William Buechner. The ceremony included Officer Buechner’s wife, Sara, son Henry, and daughter Mckenna where they were given a Medal of Honor for their husband and father who gave the ultimate sacrifice, his life, while serving our wonderful community. Get this shirt to have your own copy of the “Buechner rub” from the Memorial Wall.
